Delete your account.
You can permanently delete your TellMeWhy account from the app or a browser. Signing out alone does not delete it.
How to request deletion
- Open TellMeWhy and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- Go to You → Delete account, or use the button below after signing in.
- Review the counts and consequences. Email accounts require a separate deletion code sent to their verified email. Telegram accounts require a fresh Telegram login; reopen the Mini App if prompted.
- Type DELETE and choose Permanently delete my account. Deletion takes effect when the request succeeds.
Email and Telegram logins are separate accounts. Delete each account separately if you use both. Do not share sign-in or deletion codes.
What is removed
Your active account profile, email/Telegram identity, requests, request photos, comment text, watching records, flowers associated with the removed content, feedback and reports associated with the removed account/content, and reminder preferences/queued messages are removed from the live service. Public previews for your deleted requests stop working. Existing sessions can no longer access the account.
What remains
Other people’s requests and private circles remain. Your votes on other people’s requests become combined anonymous totals, so deleting a comment does not change an existing decision. Daily counts retain no account ID, name, email or comment text.
Circles you own pass to their oldest remaining member, with a generic name and a new invitation code. Empty circles you own are removed. Your requests in those circles are still deleted.
Copies outside the live service
Messages already being sent cannot be recalled. Previously downloaded copies and manually exported backups are not automatically rewritten by this action. Managed manual exports have a maximum 7-day retention target, with local hourly cleanup while the backup computer is available. Provider recovery snapshots have separate retention. See our privacy policy for details. This page describes the live-service deletion flow; it does not claim that third-party copies or existing backup files have been erased.
